Legal Nurse Consultants
MADELINE GOOD, R.N., M.S.N., L.N.C.C. is a Legal
Nurse Consultant. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
from Barry University and her Master of Science in Nursing from the
University of Miami. She has over 20 years of clinical nursing experience
in the areas of critical care, cardiovascular nursing, and emergency
room nursing. She also has significant medical-managerial experience
including Quality Assurance and Risk Management. She is an active
member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and American
Association of Legal Nurse Consultants for which she holds a Director
position on a national level. In addition, she is an active member
of the American Heart Association and provides training in Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation to the lay public as well as medical personnel.
CECILE N. KAPLAN, R.N., B.S.N. is a legal nurse
consultant. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
from the College of New Jersey in 1984. She has over 20 years of nursing
experience with a concentration in surgical nursing, including vascular,
thoracic, open heart, general, gynecology, plastic, pediatric, trauma
and ophthalmic surgery. In addition, she has extensive experience
in presenting in-service education to colleagues and medical students
in her areas of expertise. She is a Certified Nurse in the Operating
Room (CNOR) and a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA). Ms. Kaplan
is an active member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
(AALNC) and a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN).
MAUREEN LANCELLOT, RN. MSN. MBA. is a Registered
Nurse with over twenty-eight years of experience in a wide variety
of clinical, educational, managerial and legal positions (Legal Nurse
Consultant, Claims Analyst, Nursing Professor, Director of Nursing,
Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist,
and Staff Nurse). Prior workplace settings include for profit, not
for profit, teaching and public healthcare hospitals and third party
administrator/law firm setting. Her scope of practice covers critical
care, telemetry, medical/surgical, outpatient clinic, emergency department,
dialysis, nursing education and wound care. Ms. Lancellot is actively
involved as Nursing Professor/Area Chairperson with University of
Phoenix, where she received the South Florida Faculty of the Year
Award, 2006, and the Nursing Faculty of the Year Award, 2005. Ms.
Lancellot holds a Masters Degree in Nursing and an MBA Degree in Health
Care Administration from the University of Miami. She is a graduate
of the Florida Risk Management Institute Legal Nurse Consultant Program.
Ms. Lancellot is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse
Consultants and Sigma Theta Tau International/Omicron Delta Chapter.
PATTI A. MEEKS, JD, BSN, RN, LHRM is a nurse attorney.
She earned her BSN from University of Florida College of Nursing in
1979 and became licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida in 1980.
She subsequently practiced nursing for over ten years at a large local
hospital in the medical intensive care unit, psychiatric unit, and
operating room. She then attended Florida State University College
of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of Land Use and Environmental
Law, published a journal article, earned two book awards, and graduated
with high honors in 1993. She has since practiced in the areas of
medical malpractice defense and health law in South Florida at a private
law firm and an academic institution, where she also gained experience
in healthcare risk management and claims administration.
KARLA MELE, RN. is a Registered Nurse. She graduated
from Sisters of Charity Hospital School
of Nursing in Buffalo, New York in 1980. She has over 28 years of
nursing experience in a
variety of managerial and clinical positions with a focus on cardiovascular
and medical/surgical
nursing. More specifically, her prior experience and positions include
Assistant Nurse
Manager, Patient Care Coordinator for a private cardiology practice,
Clinical Coordinator for a
Hospice agency, Account Manager for a nursing service corporation,
and legal nurse consulting commencing in 1993. She is an active member
of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants.
